SET-UP

This science investigation will be using the following materials: the euphorbia milli, golden apple snails, piece of rice field, and beakers. The first thing to be done is the extraction of the euphorbia stem. Then the latex will be divided into three different concentrations by the addition of the water. there will be four set-ups: the first without any euphorbia extract solution, second with 75 percent euphorbia extract solution, third with 50 percent euphorbia extract solution, and the last with 25 percent euphorbia extract solution. This will be tested with the golden apple snails. A piece of land in the rice field will be divided into four columns. There the golden apple snail will be equally divided and the result will be observed overnight.

METHODOLOGY
The science investigation will take place in a ricefield. While the testing of the specie of the euphorbia and the golden apple snail will be in the University of the Philippines Los Banos.
The processes will be: Testing of the kind of specie. Extraction of the euphorbia to get the latex. Varying of the concentration of the latex. Applying the latex on the golden apple snail. Results.
In the testing of the kind of the material sample of the euphorbia plant will be brought in the UP Los Banos for testing and also the kind of the golden apple snails that are to be used. After the researchers knew the kind of the euphorbia and the kind of the snail, this will serve as one of the controlled variable in the set-up. Then the euphorbia which was already been classified will be extracted. The stems will be cut and the flowing latex will be got while the rest will be chopped and be extracted using the cheesecloth. The amount will then be divided into four groups; the first that will serve as the controlled variable while the rest will be the experimental systems. There will be 20 snails placed in each column of system. The result will be taken overnight.

Background of the Study

This research project entitled MOLLUSCICIDAL PROPERTY OF EUPHORBIA milli ON GOLDEN APPLE SNAIL have many purposes that the researcher have made studied. This significantly aimed to have a deep study about this euphorbia plant. This plant is just new in us but this plant is a different one. It can be grown easily and it have the viscous latex. This study might be one of the attempts in producing different products out of euphorbia. This aimed to help farmers whose harvest became small due to the snails feeding on the plants. It aimed to produce an organic type of molluscicide that will probably kill insects without the side effects on the plants. It aimed to lessen the budget of the farmers buying and buying expensive molluscicide passed from one another causing its high cost.

1. Research Problem/Topic:
MOLLUSCICIDAL PROPERTY OF EUPHORBIA milli ON GOLDEN APPLE SNAIL
2. Field:
The field of this research problem is on Botany because it include the anatomy and use of plants.

3. Date Started:

4. What is it?:
This study on the molluscicidal property of euphorbia milli aims to produce a qualitied and organic moluscicide. This study will use the latex of euphorbia. This won't mean of killing and killing of euphorbia plants, since this plant grows easily and just need not to be cared so much. This may not only be being productive but also helpful to our persevering farmers who worked day and night just to make their crops produce a better harvest and caught up with their capital. But as what I had seen there are lots of snails in the ricefields, for these snails are so destructive for they feed on the leaves of palay. So I hope for the success of this research.

ABSTRACT

STAIN REMOVER FROM CALLAMANSI (Citrus microcarpa), DALANDAN (Citrus aurantium) PEELING and GINGER LILY (Hedychium coronarium) EXTRACTS
Today people need lot of materials for their household chores. One of those is the stain remover. In the study, the researchers tried to produce stain remover from the peeling extract of Chinese Orange , Dalandan, and Ginger Lily juice. It aims to remove the stain color of the 3 specimens to the clothes and to compare the ability of the 3 specimens in removing stains from the clothes. To start the study, the materials were gathered. The peelings of each specimen were removed. The peelings were grinded with the use of the blender. Afterwards, a clean cloth was obtained. The extracts of each specimen were squeezed using the cloth. Another 90 pieces of cloth were gathered and each was stained by blood, catsup and rust. It was left to be dried. The stained clothes were placed in the plastic cup and the extracts were poured into it. The set up was left for 2 hours. The data were obtained from the respondents who used the product. As the result of the study, Ginger Lily showed its potential as a stain remover. It won the best specimen used for removing the 3 stains. Calamansi extract was best with its odor. Dalandan maybe helpful to remove stains but it is not as effective compared to the first two specimens.
